The water-powered weaponry, with its powerful hammers and mechanical drive was first mentioned in 1280. The weapons for the knights of the Hohengeroldseck Castle were produced here.

The weaponry has been owned by the Fehrenbach family since 1596, www.schwert-seelbach.de. Today, the blacksmith produces weapons for historical exhibition fights.
